If you are anything like me, you end up with VISA or AMEX gift cards that have a little bit of money left or you don’t ever use them. I either have online orders that are more than the gift cards amount or I don’t want to be that person in line at a store and have to use multiple forms of payment and take extra time. I like to be efficient.
I have figured out a little hack to make sure I use all the money on my gift cards! This may be not be a new thing, but I’ve not heard anyone else talk about it.
What’s the genius hack, you ask? Transfer the money to an Amazon gift card! It’s so easy to just consolidate all the money on one gift card and then use it for my orders! No need to worry about covering the difference or the order not going through because you can only use one form of payment. And no need to be “that” person in line at a store! Genius! (Ok, maybe not genius, but smart)
So the way to do this is add the VISA or AMEX gift cards as a payment option to your Amazon account. Then go to load your Amazon gift card with the exact amount that is left on your VISA or AMEX gift card. It doesn’t have to be round numbers, this works with any amount. Give it about 10 minutes, and BAM! Your funds are now available to use on Amazon!
Let me know if you if this is something you were already aware of or if it was new and helpful for you!
XOXO,
Heather
